I have an HP Envy laptop that I purchased from Costco around 3-4 years ago. It has been getting very slow and I wanted to add an SSD to it and boot off of it.

I have a Corsair MP400 1 TB SSD that I installed in the M.2 slot but the SSD would not show up in Disk Management or in the BIOS. I've updated the BIOS. I've updated drivers and whatnot. I've looked at the laptop manual to try and find any information on it but I could not. I have read that some Costco laptops disable the M.2 slot. Could this be the case? Is there anything else I should try? If the SSD doesn't work for my laptop I can use it for my desktop but I would really like to upgrade the laptop as it is getting slow and I will need it for class. Thanks for your time.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I've tested the SSD in my desktop already. It works great.

On page 3 of the Manual which clearly says it supports M.2 SATA SSD drive therefore NVMe drives won't work
