I attempted to calibrated my laptop battery because it was only lasting about 2 hours on battery power.  Upon completion of the "preferred" calibration process it showed a message - "battery needs calibrated (20)".

Since the battery is about 3 years old, I bought a new battery, installed and tested the new battery,  Received a message "battery needs calibrated (20)".     What does the message "battery needs calibrated (20)" mean?  I am in the process of calibrating the new battery.  Looks like an 8 hour process.

Any insight into this battery calibration challenge will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion.  I followed the instructions provided, however, still received the same message "primary battery needs calibrated (20)".

I am trying to understand the messages reference to (20).  What does the (20) mean?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi @Bob6965

Thank you for posting back.

I would like to know where exactly you are getting this error? Usually, It is a generic error and 20 doesn't refer to anything.

Sometimes the ACPI or Advanced Configuration and Power Interface driver can cause laptop battery charge to fail if the driver is corrupt. Uninstall and reinstall the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery device driver and check if that resolve the problem.

Good Morning.  I receive the message after the bttery check is completed.

If I recall correctly...............the message read:  "Primary Battery Fully Charged Battery needs calibrated (20)"

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi @Bob6965

Thank you for posting back.

Please refer to the table below "What do the different battery test results mean?" in the below document which gives the errors you might receive after running a battery test.

Have you performed that steps I had provided in the previous post? If yes, let me know the result and I recommend you to try running the battery test again and send me a screenshot of the result.
