Pavilion 15-P199SA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a Pavilion 15-p199sa and purchased it in 2015. Since then I have changed to a SSD and also increased the RAM from 8 to 12GB

The power doesnt last long on the laptop even with just basic internet usage and it doesn't take much for the FAN to kick in creating alot of noise.

I notice the battery is 2580mah which i guess is crazy compared to what mobile phones hold now.

Would a replacement battery at this stage be a great improvement?
I found a 2200mah for £26 i presume at this point based on the age of my laptop there are not higher capacities. Is it worth the investment?

A battery is like tires for cars, you are going to need one sooner or later. The cost of a battery is nothing compared to the cost of a new laptop.

When buying a generic battery for an old laptop, use Amazon where you can see reviews of the battery being purchased. There are good generics and not so good generics.

Also, comparing laptop battery capacity to cell phone capacity is misleading. Phone batteries are I think 5V whereas laptop's are in the 18-19V range. In simple terms, 3000 maH  at 5V is 1/4 capacity of 3000maH at 19V
