HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0033dx

My laptop is bulging so much, that the trackpad is almost unusable to click on items on screen.  Any help with what type of hardware work that needs to be done to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

The cause of the issue is perhaps a swollen, distended battery that is failing (will fail soon).

If a swollen battery is the underlying cause of the touch pad / keyboard issue,

The only solution is to remove the battery from the computer and replace it with a new compatible battery.

===============================================

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery

  • Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated.  For example, notebook case warps or won’t close, touch-pad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.

  • If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced.  There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
