Hey,

 

I was hoping someone could help me answer this question so i dont have to pull my laptop apart to find the answer.  I am wanting to upgrade my current AMD CPU in my laptop.  I am aware that some are welded on and some are not.  I am hoping someone can tell me this information about my laptop. I am wanting to upgrade to atleast 4 cores i possible.

 

Radeon Software Version - 18.5.1
Radeon Software Edition - Adrenalin
Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics
Memory Size - 512 MB
Memory Type - DDR4
Core Clock - 655 MHz
Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
System Memory - 8 GB
CPU Type - AMD A6-9220 RADEON R4, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G

Hi:

 

The processor is part of the motherboard.

 

In order to upgrade the processor, you would have to replace the motherboard with one listed in the service manual for your model series that may come with a better processor.

 

This would cost as much as buying a new notebook with a better processor, since that model series is so new.
