Hello all! My webcam with HP ENVY - 13-aq0045tx suddenly stopped working. It shows the error 0xA00F4292 with the camera app. I have tried all driver fix solutions but the problem was not fixed. If anyone has found a solution to this, please let me know.
Also let me know if this is a hardware issue.
Thank you in advance 🙂

HI @Robob500 ,
Is the webcam still present and shown as having a driver installed in the Device Manager?
edit:
You should be able to test the camera by use of the PC Hardware Diagnostic utility available by tapping the F2 key immediately after pressing the power button on the notebook. Webcam diagnostic test is in the component tests.
Make sure that the camera is enabled in the Device Manager and that your Internet protection, perhaps Windows Defender, is not blocking it
I use Zoom for family meetings and I sometimes video chat in WhatsApp with my Spectre x360-13t-ac000 series notebook.

Yes, it is being shown in Device Manager. The driver is also installed. I have updated the driver and it says the best driver is already installed and that the driver is working perfectly.
Also checked internet protection. Windows Defender is not blocking it. I also ran hardware diagnostics and it says the camera is working fine. However, it is not working!

Have you tried using it in Zoom or Whatsapp?
I have had mixed success with the Windows 10 Camera App, so I really don't consider it the best test of the camera. I recommend that you try another app.
I have a brand new HP TrueView usb webcam on this desktop and the Camera app kind of works, but won't take photos or videos. I used Zoom on Saturday and the webcam worked flawlessly.

It may be Windows updates that have stopped it from working.
You might consider uninstalling the camera in Device Manager and then right-clicking any device and selecting scan for hardware changes.
The OS should reinstall the webcam device and a compatible driver.
