My laptop is only 1.5 years old, an HP envy x360. Yesterday while charging my laptop the charging bit started smoking, caught fire, and melted the charging port of my laptop. I'm unable to charge my laptop entirely and am unfortunately waiting for it to die. The charger bit was completely overheated and melted into my laptop as well. I've never experienced anything like this before, and don't understand how it overheated to such an extreme while charging my laptop- destroying the port. It's such a liability at this point and I'm afraid of my laptop. And I don't understand how a 1.5 year old charger would overheat and destroy my laptop. What can I do to get this fixed? I've been contacting representatives to no avail and don't know where to turn.
