Hi, my laptop stopped charging out of the blue, no slow decline over time, just boom didn't charge one day. The laptop works fine plugged in, I assumed the battery had gone, but HP diagnostics tool said the battery was fine. Further digging has revealed an error with the charging port.

 

Error Message reads

Charging Port Test : FAILED

Failure ID: 6CQ6KF-9K(BGM-MFPXG1-08BN03

Product ID: 5MN30EA

 

The contact HP procedure just told me I was out of warranty and to contact a repair supplier near me. Turns out all those suppliers are high-end business-to-business repair contractors, not laptop repair places, come on HP do better.

 

So, my question how reliable is the diagnostic tool and does anyone know where I could buy a replacement charging port for my HP Pavilion 15-dp0003na?
