I currently have the original 240GB HDD in a HP Notebook 17-bs011dx and I would like to upgrade to a 2 TB drive. Is this possible and if yes, are there recommendations as to which device to buy. Thanks in advance.

Hi:
The product specs for your notebook indicate that it came with a 1 TB 2.5" SATA mechanical hard drive.
Can you provide the model number of the 240 GB drive your notebook has installed?
It would be listed in the device manager under the Disk drives category.

If you replaced the original drive with a 240 GB 2.5" SATA SSD, you should be able to replace that with a 2 TB 2.5" SATA SSD.
I recommend this one:
