Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I have an Omen 17t-ck200 laptop. Lately, the fan has been making this kind of clicking noise or like its knocking against something when it spins. I have tried to search for the fan model using the QR code however nothing shows up. The fan model is SOLDQ5DC99C009319501RL3A. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I would get a replacement?

Hi NathanC5-

Finding a replacement fan for your Omen 17t-ck200 can be difficult because the part number you provided, SOLDQ5DC99C009319501RL3A, is a manufacturing or internal component number, not a standard HP spare part number.

The correct way to find the replacement fan is by using the HP part number. Based on your laptop's model series (17t-ck200), the spare part numbers for the CPU and GPU fans are typically:

  • CPU Fan: M78888-001 or M38428-001

  • GPU Fan: M78889-001 or M75485-001

It is important to check if you need to replace both the CPU and GPU fans, as they are often sold as a set.

Where to Buy a Replacement Fan

You have several options for purchasing a replacement fan:

  1. Authorized HP Parts Resellers: This is the safest option to ensure you get a genuine part. You can search for authorized resellers on the HP website.

  2. Online Marketplaces: Sites like eBay, AliExpress, and Amazon are common places to find replacement laptop parts. When buying from these sites, it's crucial to:

    • Verify the seller's rating and reviews.

    • Match the part number exactly.

    • Read the product description carefully to ensure it's compatible with your specific Omen 17t-ck200 model.

  3. Specialized Parts Websites: There are many online stores that specialize in laptop and computer components. A quick search for the part number or your laptop model can help you find them.

Before you purchase a replacement fan, you may want to watch a guide on how to open your specific Omen 17 model. Replacing a fan in a gaming laptop involves a few careful steps, including removing the heatsink and reapplying thermal paste.

Here's a video that shows the process of replacing the fan in an Omen laptop, which will give you a good idea of what's involved. I hope the above is helpful
