Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion Laptop has to be held at a 45 degree angle so the hard drive will operate normally. The hdd has been tested and works fine, it is not the problem, Any ideas??

I had a new HP laptop a couple of years back that had the ability to automatically switch into tablet mode -- but you had to tilt the laptop at a 45 degree angle to get that to work.

When I check with HP about that, I was told there was an accelerometer inside the laptop that needed that amount of "attitude" adjustment in order to kick in.

I don't know how this would affect a hard drive, but it sounds suspicious to me.  Maybe there is a way to have that disconnected to fix this issue, but I would not know how to go about doing that.

You should contact HP about this and demand to speak to Tech Support to see if they can fix this.

Thanks for your suggestion, I did contact HP and they are going to replace my Motherboard since the first fix they did was not successful in correcting this problem. I have the Laptop back and so far so good. Initially they replaced the HDD saying that was the issue but I felt that was incorrect. I was sure my HDD was working properly. So now it is a matter of time to ensure that this new MB has fixed the issue. Thanks again.
