Hi, two sets of four keys have stopped working. I reinserted the ribbon cable. No joy.

The keyboard seems to be fixed to the bezel with dozens of plastic rivets. Does anyone know how I can replace the keyboard, please?!

Hi,

Yes, the keyboard comes as one part with top cover as we can see on page 18 of service manual:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04653884

So you can search online with the correct part number to find the part

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=813975-001

You can also replacxe only the keyboard, however it involves breaking off those plastic rivots you have seen and somehow "sticking" the new keyboard in its place.

Example:

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks for that fast reply. It looks like I need to get the whole top part with the keyboard.
HP must be seriously losing the plot.

That is true. Many machines now have keyboard and top part are on ONE piece.
