hey guys
I bought this laptop (hp 15-bs014ne) in December 2017. It used to work well until late 2019 when it's keyboard and battery suddenly started running into issues.
I'll address about the keyboard first. The b,n,lock, delete,=,num lock keys no longer works. I thought i was the only one stuck in the same situation, so i checked this issue on hp forums and i saw a lot of people with the same series (bs0xx series) facing the same problem (that too the same keys!) . I have tried every thing possible to fix it (removed dust, uninstalling and reinstalling keyboard drivers..etc). I haven't spilled anything on it either, most of these series users had concluded their discussion with the reply they recieved at the end of the discussion saying it's a hardware problem. Can someone explain why only this series has this hardware defect? or show me other possible solutions that i can try. I have a lot of files (around 480 GB worth of files) so I am not planning to do a formatting/reset but any other solutions are welcome.
Battery Issue
the battery issue started around mid february this year, I used to get 10-12 hours of battery life until this issue came. I noticed it right away as the laptop battery charge levels started acting weird, sometimes i used to loose 3% in a minute, sometimes it takes 10 minutes to loose 1%. Literally after a few days (like not even a week) the situation worsened, I used to get only 4 hours of battery life (even with power saving mode on and almost no apps even open), and around 2-3 days later the battery just declares itself officially dead, ( I get a message during windows bootup, telling that the battery needs to be replaced (it still says my battery is good in hp support assistant and is completely healthy lol ). all of this happened within a period of 10 days. I don't think so i have ever overcharged my laptop or used my laptop without a charger below 15-20%. i guess batteries are normally designed to last more than 3 years (as was the case of my fujitsu notebook which lasted for around 4 years).i know it depends on no. of charging-discharging cycles but i'm sure i haven't had many as well .Now, the laptop has 0 battery capacity,it looses power if i unplug the charger. Again can someone explain how did this happen this quick?
Other than these two issues, the laptop still runs smoothly even though it has a dual core cpu (decent enough gpu+16 gigs of ram compensates for the cpu i guess). Random lag spikes occur while gaming due to cpu overheating but i don't blame it as i am running games that is pushing it to it's limits.( I started playing games after both the above issues occured). Anyways expecting a reply soon.TIA

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you run a Keyboard and Battery Test from F2 Diagnostic to confirm the Hardware Functionalities
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Keyboard
Also run the battery Test the same way
Keep me posted
