Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

About 2 months back my laptop stopped charging after 76%. It displayed plugged in and charging, but no change in charge percentage.

Today it has stopped at 62% itself and displays the same thing "plugged in,charging". I'm a student and don't want my laptop to crash during my important exams. Is there anything that I could do about it?

Help will be appreciated.

Can we have the full model number of the laptop? Have you tried running a diagnostic test on the battery from HP Support Assistant? How old, approximately, is the battery?

Product Name: HP Pavilion Notebook

Product Number: Z4Q39PA#ACJ

I purchased it 2 years ago.

I ran the diagnostic test right now. Result:

What should I do now?

Thanks for the help.

I would like to see the advanced information if you click on that link next to "Results". Run it down to 20% then try to charge up again. Charge it back as high as it will go. Repeat 2 or 3 times and let's see if we can get the max charge level improved. But a new battery is in your very near future I think.

Here is the information that you had asked for. Will try charging it as you mentioned and will let you know. Thanks.

It's not quite 3 years old and has 203 cycles and 90% of its original ability to hold a charge. It's still a good battery as far as I can see and calibration should get it back to being useful.
