Hello. I am from Ukraine, I am writing through Google translator. I bought an HP Laptop 15-da0xxx (Pentium N 5000 processor, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce MX110, Motherboard 84AB 82.20). It has 4 GB of RAM (4Gb SK Hynix 2400MHz), it has only one slot in the laptop (I took it apart and saw that there was only 1 RAM slot). Can I install 8 GB of RAM here? That is, I take out the 4 GB bar, and put the 8 GB bar in its place? I repeat, there is only one slot for RAM, there is a place for the second slot, but it is not soldered to the motherboard. The processor supports 8 GB of RAM, but will it work with one bar in one slot?

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

Yes, you can remove the 4 GB memory bar and replace it with an 8 GB memory bar.

Thank you for your reply. Tomorrow I will order 8GB memory with the right frequencies and the right type. I don’t understand why they wrote "Memory is non-customer accessible / non-upgradeable" in the manual if the Aida 64 utility also shows that the maximum allowable RAM is 8GB for my configuration. That is, you can increase RAM. Or does this mean that the user should not do this on his own? For example, lose the warranty? In any case, I will buy 8GB and put it instead of 4GB, since it will work. Eh, again you need to unscrew the bolts and carefully open the case with a credit card so as not to break anything ...

You're very welcome.
The "Memory is non-customer accessible / non-upgradeable" statement means that HP wants the upgrades done by an authorized HP service center.
If you can do the job yourself without breaking anything during the process (thus voiding the warranty), feel free to do so.
