Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All, I want to upgrade my hp 15-bw0xx laptop with a SSD. My query is:

Does my laptop support NVME SSD or SATA SSD? Please suggest some good SSDs as per support.

Can I install 512 GB or 240 GB SSD?

Hi:

If your notebook has a M.2 SSD slot (open the notebook and check before buying one), the slot only supports SATA SSD's, not NVMe.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types:

HP 15 Laptop PC (AMD)* Model numbers: 15-bw0xxHP 15g Laptop PC* Model numbers: 15g-bx0xxHP 15q Lapto...

If you look at chapter 3 page 19 of the service manual, additional parts are needed to add a M.2 SSD, so if your notebook did not come with a M.2 SATA SSD one from the factory, the chances are very good the M.2 slot is not there.

If your notebook does have a M.2 slot, I recommend one of these:

Western Digital WD Blue SA510 M.2 500GB, Up to 560MB/s, 2.5 Inch/7 mm, 5Y Warranty, Internal Solid S...

Silicon Power A55 512GB M.2 2280 SATA III SSD, 3D NAND with SLC Cache, Up to 560MB/s, Internal Solid...
