ProBook 450 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi everyone!

I am using HP ProBook 450 G3. It has SSD Lite-ON CV5-8Q256-HP on board.

Suddently Laptop stopped to boot properly. SSD is not available from BIOS. No OS detected. The device act like the SSD is not present at all. There is a very important info on SSD. Please help me get it back.

Well, SSDs are perhaps less prone to failure than mechanical hard drives but not immune. They can and do die.

I would first remove and reseat the M.2 mSSD.

Manual

You can see on page 37 of the Manual the M.2 mSSD is behind the smaller of the 2 service doors. Remove it and reseat it in the slot and try booting again.

It is possible the M.2 slot on the laptop has gone bad and since it is a SATA-type M.2 you can get a usb adapter to try it with another computer or even try to boot your computer from it as an external usb startup disk:

Let us know how it goes. Do you also have a mechanical hard drive in the laptop? Might also try removing it and boot from just the M.2 after you reseat it.

Thank you for reply. But unfortunately the ssd is not available from any device. I have tried to connect it to PCs that have M.2 slot on motherboard but no result too.

I dont have hdd, only ssd on board. BIOS thinks there is no SSD installed. So do another PCs.

Then I regret to inform you it is dead. Sorry.

Pizdets.

This is not the first time. I had to send it to service with the same problem four months ago. They just changed my dead ssd to new one same model.
