So, I set the desired temperature to 60 and the warning at 80

These are the temperatures I got while playing. Ignore the 127, thats always been there, and apparently it is normal.

I played for maybe 5 more minutes after taking that picture, and the laptop shut down again. I checked to see if it was just sleeping, but it was not.

I really don't feel that overheating is  the problem, since these temperatures are normal, and I have gotten higher temperatures while editing video.

Could there be some other causes?

Thanks

Hard to ignore the 127, but OK. Sudden shutdown can be a bad hard drive, bad memory or a bad motherboard.

That was quite helpful.

But on a serious note, could this have anything to do with a dual boot?

I don't think so, but do you?
