Hello community, hope everyone is doing well.

I'm not sure I'm in the right section, but I couldn't find one to better describe my issue.

I have Widnows Pro 10, 8 GB of RAM. Laptop works fine, but suddenly loses power completely, even when plugged in and battery full; I then cannot start it until I have removed the AC adpter and the battery, then plugged either one back.

I have flashed the BIOS, switched out the RAM, cleared static, and nothing works.

Has anyone seen this issue before? Any suggegstions? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome back to HP Support Community

I suggest you run an Extensive System Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality and also let me know if the Notebook shuts down during the Test

- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.

Note: The Test might take few hours and if the Notebook shuts down during the Test then it would be a Hardware issue

Keep me posted 😊

Thanks for that KT,

I have already tried this, but the test comes back "Passed" for all categories, I am seriously considering replacing the motherboard.

If the computer did not shut down during the extensive test I suggest you try reinstalling the Windows and check if that helps. If the issue persists then you can check for Motherboard replacement 😊
