Hi @Joeycoco
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how concerning this can be. If your HP Notebook - 15-bs106na is acting as though it is in tablet mode and the keyboard and touchpad stop responding, the issue is often related to Windows detecting an incorrect input mode or a driver not functioning as expected.
Please try the following:
- Restart the notebook and repeatedly press F2 at startup to run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Test the keyboard and touchpad in the diagnostics environment. If they work there, the hardware is likely functioning correctly.
- In Windows, open Device Manager and expand:
- Keyboards
- Mice and other pointing devices
- Human Interface Devices
- Look for any device showing a warning symbol. If present, uninstall the affected device and restart the notebook so Windows can reinstall it.
- Run Windows Update and install all available updates, including optional driver updates.
- Install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers available for the HP Notebook 15-bs106na from the HP Support website.
- Perform a full shutdown by holding the Power button for 15 seconds, then restart the notebook and check whether the keyboard and touchpad return to normal operation.
If the issue continues, please let us know:
- Does the keyboard work at the BIOS Startup Menu (press Esc during startup)?
- Does the touchpad stop working at the same time as the keyboard?
- Did the issue start after a Windows update or driver change?
This information will help us identify whether the behavior is related to Windows, drivers, or the notebook's input devices.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
