My laptop battery drains extremely fast after shutdown. 2-3 weeks of no activity and the battery is out. What do I do?

- I disabled the fast startup/shutdown.
- Did some basic battery optimizations, nothing seems to work.

@DrAnkit,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

You should not allow your laptop battery to completely drain out, as frequent drain-outs will shorten its lifespan.

It is nothing unusual that a laptop battery will discharge over time, and 2-3 weeks is not terribly concerning per se.

However, once a laptop battery is aging, say over 4 years, you may want to consider replacing it.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
