Recently purchased a HP Laptop 15-dy5033dx. I used my previous HP laptop about 6 years and it still performs but is not hardware compatible for update from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
The battery failed after some years of use on the previous laptop. Since I only used it as a "desktop" I did not replace the expensive battery when it failed and simply used AC power. The new laptop will be used in the same manner as a "desktop". I plan to plug AC power when turning on the unit and unplugging after shutdown. Is this acceptable? I read one comment that suggested using the battery only once a week and letting it charge down to 15-20% before plugging the unit back to AC power. Otherwise leave it plugged to AC power. I prefer to unplug when not in use.
