Hi

I got a store contact near to my location and I took my laptop there and they have estimated $400 or $500. I am currently jobless, trying to develop new skills for which I need to carry the laptop and wish to fix it as the lid is severely broke at the hinges and I was managing at home with external monitor. Any help in reducing the repair cost would be a great help.

Thanks

I agree with you.  This is an obvious design flaw in their product and they should make good on this.  How can they expect people to drop $1000 for a laptop and then another $300 plus to fix it.  $300 is just to replace the screen.  This does not cover the broken hinge.  I posted a message on 1/27/2021 with pictures. It shows the screws pulled the grommet out of the plastic.  I will let you know if I hear from HP.
