HP Envy X360 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, today at school one of my friends accidentaly dropped my bag with my latptop inside and one of the corners got heavily dented. The laptopt still fully works and the near ports work fine aswell, for the moment i bent the alluminium a little to allow me to use the near HDMI port. Now, i have just the stock warranty and i want to know how much does a replacement cost and if it's possible here in italy. Thanks in advice, i will attach the photos with this description.

Hi,

Can you please provide the exact model or product number of the PC for further help. There are many Envy x360. Here is link to HP support page showing how to find it:

Ok. Now, to replace all the parts is going to be very expensive. If you get it done at official HP service centre it would most likely cost more than buying a new computer.

If we look at all the new parts you would need:

Look at page 17 and 22 of service manual:

Bottom cover part number     part number 924345-001  Euro 77,13

Top cover Italy                            part number 934640-061   Euro 149,82

Display back cover                    part number  924344-001  Euro 103,17

Example where you can buy:

https://it.eetgroup.com/search?query=924353-061

https://it.eetgroup.com/search?query=924344-001

Service manual:

Having said the above you can see how much it would cost (adding the prize of the work). Personally, what I would do is bring it to a local trusted computer technician or Smartphone repair centre and see if they can dismantle the PC and work the aluminium back into its original shape. There are technicians out there which can do wonders with working the metal. This would cost a lot less and be an effective fix.

Hope it helps,

David

You might be able to find some of the parts for cheaper by searching on ebay or online with a part number.

Hi,

The display back cover has a very little damage so i considered not to replace it. It is possible after buying the remainig two pieces to disassemble the laptop at home with some help and replacing the parts without the need of a technician? In the past with one friend we changed an laptop motherboard so i wonder if we can do this type of replacement.

Thanks alot for the help.

Yes, it is possible. You will need to dismantle the PC nearly completely to get it done. You can follow the steps to remove system board and display assembly which will nearly remove all the parts. Follow the service manual carefully. When you put the heatsink back on the board you will need to replace the thermal paste with quality paste such as MX4.

Anyway, if you decide to do it with a friend. Send me a private message when the parts arrive and I will give you my WhatsApp number and help you along. As I said before I live in Italy and speak Italian.

Let me know,

David
