I understand your HP notebook casing is separating from the unit, to fix this issue your computer needs to be repaired.

I already resolved the issue. The hinge became so stiff it pulled the hinge mounting screws out of the case. I adjusted the tension ion the hinge to stop it from rotating the hinge when opening the case. In my opinion it is a poor design where the hinge seems to tighten up eventually rotating the hinge and breaking the case. Had to epoxy the screw mounting nuts in place. Never had this issue with years of use on my Dell laptop.

May I ask exactly how you went about this?  Just remove the screws on the back of the case, lift off, and go from there?

Thank you in advance.
