Product: HP ENVY - 17t-ae100 CTO
Product#: 1WC57AV
When I open the lid of my laptop, the right side back of the metal casing begins to separate from the bottom of the metal case. The bezel “pries” itself apart from the base of the laptop casing, and I need to snap it back in place each time I open the lid.
- The hinge is not broken; the tiny screws seem to be damaged.
- I brought the laptop to an Asurion U Break I Fix store and they were unable to locate the replacement parts (screws) to perform the repair.
This laptop is otherwise in perfect working order so I would prefer to find a way to have it repaired instead of replacing it.
Can anyone from HP provide a solution? It's a 17.5" laptop -- it will cost a fortune to sent it to HP for a repair, but it is impossible to speak to a live human at HP for any type of service question/support.
Please help!
