Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb1000 (7Y8M8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there,

I have HP-USB-C G5 dock that I'd like to use to power the Victus laptop I just bought.  The G5 dock works great with the dual monitors, sends music through the speakers, etc, but the laptop is not being powered through the G5 USB-C line.

Here's the exact model: Victus 15-fb1013dx

Is there a setting I have to turn on or something?  Just curious!

I can't find the specs of your machine but it uses 150W or 200W charger. The HP USB-C G5 does NOT have enough power (output wattage) to charge your Victus.

I posted few times before: I tested my HP USB-C G5 dock on many machines from few vendors including my HP Omen (it has 200W Charger) and the dock can ONLY charge my HP Omen when off.

My final answer, the dock may charge your Victus when off because it does not have enough power to charge your Victus when on. I can use SINGLE cable setup between my HP USB-C G5 and my HP 840 G5.

Regards.
