Laptop compatibility HP Envy 15t-j100 Intel Core i7-4700MQ.

I currently have an HP Envy 15t-Notebook PC Intel Core i7-4700MQ. Model 15t-j100 was found on the back battery compartment.

I have structural problems with the case and there are laptops on Ebay that just need a HD and battery. One I was looking at looks exactly the same but the model is HP Envy Touchsmart M7 Notebook Model M7-j010dx.  

Do I need to have the EXACT same model if I am going to just swap the HD and battery?

Also, what other models may be compatible with mine for what I am trying to do? 

What would the cost be to refurb my case? It's the hinges on the screen that are broken. I've replaced several parts but I'm getting tired of it breaking on me.

Hi,

There are lots of models that use the same battery and the HDD can be used in nearly all models. 

So, the 15-j000 and 15-j100 series and the M7 j000 and M7 j100 have the same battery.

Now if you want to replace the hinges, you will need to replace the actual hinges and the part or parts they are coming loose from.

So for the Touchsmart model, I would need to have drivers for that to work? What other drivers would I possibly need and where do I download them?
