I was charging both of my cellphones on my HP laptop and it crashed with a message locked/locking. It crashed several times after that although I no longer charge the phones on it. Crashed in the middle of an exam Saturday.

Hi, I did as suggested but it said my hardware was ok. I have not experienced the problem lately but I am still a bit concerned as I have online exams coming up and do not want a repeat of it crashing during the exam

Yes, that would be bad.
Is it possible to point a video-camera over your shoulder to your laptop's screen, and then record yourself taking the exam? If the computer crashes, you have recorded evidence to present to show the failure, rather than just relying on your statement to your school that it crashed?
