Laptop does not recognize charger. Bought another HP charger with the same specs and it still does not recognize it.
Steps taken
1) Updated all drivers to latest from HP website
2) Several attempts at holding power button for 60+ seconds to perform reset. Cannot remove battery.
3) Went into diagnostics mode (F2). Battery tests fine. Charger is not recognized as plugged in
Even though the laptop is not recognizing charger, it does charge VERY SLOWLY, about 2% per day. When using the laptop, the power drains, even though the charger is plugged in.
The laptop was purchased in June 2017, so extremely disappointed.

Please identify your notebook with its complete product number or product name.
You have only partially identified it as a member of a model series.

Thank you! 🙂
Please check the warranty status at the following web document. The link is directly beneath the product name
I had a similar model as last year's HP product loan. It performed flawlessly and gave me 10+ hours of battery life.
Is the power adapter you purchased one that is guaranteed to be compatible?
Why did you replace the power adapter?
Your description sounds as if the power adapter, battery or power\charging cuircuit on the system board may have or is failing.
Testing the power adapter

The warranty status shows expired. It was a short warranty period.
We bought an HP branded power adaptor because it had the exact specs of the laptop. The reason for purchasing another adapter was because my daughter left the original back at school during break. It gave us an opportunity to test with another power adapter and rule that out as the difficulty. I did put a multimeter on it to confirm it was working anyway.

The free factory warranty is for one complete year. If yours was somehow less, you can probably resolve that with HP.
Since the new power adapter did not resolve the issue, it means there is an issue with the system board. It will need to be serviced.
