There was grinding noise once switched on and the screen was blank saying hardware not found. But if I tilt and lay the laptop on it's screen the grinding noise disappears and the laptop works just fine. Does anybody knows what's the problem?

Sounds like the fan housing perhaps got dented in and when you lay it down normally the weight pushes down on the fan but if you lay it so gravity goes in another direction the fan can spin free. After a drop like that it really needs to be checked out by a technician.

I agree with you sir but what about it's going blank and appearing as boot device not found? And sometimes it's appearing as hard drive f3 etc etc or sometimes its showing as automatic repair going on , pls reply

You did not mention any of that the first time. Sounds like the hard drive got damaged, too.
