@Avneet02, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP laptop is freezing and blinking when held from the left side, and requires a force shutdown to recover. Let's work through this together.

  • Laptop hangs/freezes during use.
  • Blinking or display issues when physically held from the left side.
  • Requires force shutdown to recover.

This behavior suggests a possible hardware issue, such as:

  • A loose internal connection (e.g., display cable, battery, or motherboard flex).
  • Pressure-sensitive fault near the left chassis (could be affecting the motherboard or display connector).
  • Manufacturing defect or damage during transit.

Recommended Steps:

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear residual power and reset hardware connections.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB devices, charger, etc.).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop.

Check for BIOS and Driver Updates

Outdated firmware or drivers can cause system instability.

  • Go to Official HP® Support
  • Enter your laptop’s model number.
  • Install the latest BIOS, graphics, and chipset drivers.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This will help identify any hardware faults.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Power it on and immediately press Esc, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run System Tests and Component Tests (especially for memory and display).

Inspect Physical Behavior

Since the issue worsens when holding the laptop from the left side:

  • Gently press different areas of the left chassis while the laptop is on to see if the issue is reproducible.
  • If pressing or flexing the left side causes blinking or freezing, it may indicate a loose internal connector or motherboard flex issue.

If the issue persists after the above steps, In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
