OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx

I took it to a local repair shop and I was told that the laptop was heating up drastically past it's shut off point, something like 105celcius she told me. She said something along the lines of its a CPU power delivey and sensor issue (I am not that well versed in computer specifics so I am word vomitting here)  She said its something in the Motherboard? On top of that, when the computer is charging, the charging port is INSANELY hot to the touch.

Basically I am trying to see what else are my options here; is it worth fixing or is it gonna cost me an insane amount that it makes a new computer just worth it? I scheduled an appointment with the Geek Squad because I am unsure of any other options. It's going to cost an initial $100 and god knows whatever the repair is. Any guidance?

It's an HP OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx  Product: 2V927UA

What "she" said is unlikely and is probably an attempt to upsell you.

Find a real shop, not Geek Squad, with a real technician!

This is why the Geek Squad has such a sketchy reputation.

If the temperature of the processor had reached above 105C it would have shut itself off to protect from damage.

Specifications for the Ryzen 7 4800H

What is probably is needed is replacement of the thermal pads for the graphics and the processor and  the dust/obstructions removed from the thermal module. The fans may need to be cleaned as well.

Poor case ventilation and  poor airflow may also cause higher operating temperature of other system components, such as the systemboard and the discrete video.
