Laptop needs new battery

Good day, 

I need to upgrade a laptops battery but I do not have access to the laptop. I just need to order a new battery so when I am at the remote office I can just install the battery. Is there anyway I can see online which battery needs to be bought? I have the serial number of the product and that is about it.
