HP Laptop PC 14-d2000 (2D126AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a recurring issue with my device's network driver where it can do one of the following:

  • Crash after the device awakes from sleep mode and hibernation, meaning the device cannot connect to the internet until the device is restarted
  • Gradually slow down the device's connection speed, usually becoming much faster when it is manually disabled and reenabled in Device Manager (for context, running an internet speed test at one point returned a download speed in the low megabits, while the same test on another device in the same location returned over 50 megabits)

I'll also point out that the driver sometimes fail to restart after it's disabled in Device Manager. I have also downloaded and installed a version of the driver and installed it, and still encounter the issue on occasion.

The device I am using is a 14s-dq2057sa laptop, and the network driver is listed as Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Adaptor in Device Manager.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've downloaded and installed the driver, and I'm still experiencing the issue provided. I don't know how relevant this is, but my device has also started to occasionally crash and shut down automatically when the display turns off.

I've looked in Event Viewer and saw the following log around the time the driver last failed:

Miniport Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter, {084ad115-7be4-47c0-b6be-5d666aa1ef97}, had event Fatal error: The miniport has failed a power transition to operational power
