HP Pavilion Aero 13.3 inch Laptop PC 13-be0000 (3B3W5AV)

My laptop has just come out of warranty and started not charging. It has had a new power connector and battery. If left for a long while it will charge for 2-3 minutes then stops. It has been tried with various ac adaptors and no change. I have reinstalled battery drivers and no change. It may be it needs repaired by an HP approved installer and details of any in the Glasgow / Stirling area appreciated. Any help much appreciated.

Hi @Jimn101,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing some charging issues with your HP Pavilion Aero 13.3 Inch Laptop PC, even after replacing the power connector and battery, as well as trying different AC adapters. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.

  • Check the Power Outlet and Adapter: Make sure the power outlet you're using is functioning correctly. Additionally, verify that the AC adapter you're using is the correct one for your laptop and that it's not damaged.
  • Inspect the Charging Port: Ensure that the charging port on your laptop is clean and free from debris. Sometimes, dust and lint can accumulate in the port, preventing a proper connection. Gently clean it with a can of compressed air if necessary.
  • Update BIOS and Drivers: Visit the HP support website and make sure your laptop has the latest BIOS and driver updates. Sometimes, outdated firmware or drivers can cause charging issues.
  • Battery Health Check: Windows has built-in tools for checking battery health. You can access this by right-clicking the battery icon in the system tray and selecting "Windows Mobility Center" or "Power Options." Look for an option that allows you to check battery health.
  • Reset Power Management Settings: Reset your laptop's power management settings to their default values. You can do this by going to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and selecting the "Restore default settings for this plan" option.
  • Try a Different Charging Cable: Sometimes, the charging cable itself can be the issue. If you have access to another compatible charging cable, try using it to see if it makes a difference.
  • Run a Battery Report: Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following command: powercfg /batteryreport. This will generate a battery report that may provide insights into your battery's health and charging patterns.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with your laptop's charging circuit or motherboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
