Hi,
My laptop is not turning on. Even when i plugin my the power cable, the red light does NOT light up.
Earlier the same day, both USB C ports had stopped working.
I am pretty sure this is a motherboard issue.
My warranty expired just on August 25, 2019.
Can you let me know what options do I have. Can I order the motherboard from you guys, I can replace it myself.
Thanks

@rohitbalan You are right, this seems to be an issue with the motherboard, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

@rohitbalan Before we conclude that this is a hardware malfunction within the system board, I need you to try a few steps, also, here's something I need to know:
Have you attempted to connect the device to an alternate power cord or adapter?
Or check with another wall outlet, excluding any surge protectors to check if it works?
While you respond to that, here's the best way to resolve the issue, using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE
(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
If the above doesn't help or the steps are insufficient, check the below steps:
Let's start with a hard reset of your notebook computer before you try any other troubleshooting steps.
Reasons for a hard reset
A hard reset has the following effects:
-
Clears the memory.
-
Reestablishes the connection between the BIOS and the hardware
The following conditions can be helped by the hard reset:
-
Windows stop responding.
-
The display suddenly goes blank.
-
The computer does not wake from sleep or hibernate modes.
-
Software applications freeze or fail to respond.

Hi Riddle_Decipher,
The below steps did not work out.
Here are my additional observations -
1. The charger led does not light up.
2. The power button led does not light up. When the laptop stopped working, I was using it and the battery was fully charged.
3. On hard reset, i do not hear any sound/clicks.
An hour or so before my laptop went dead, both the Thundebolt/UsbC ports had stopped working. I tried to reinstall a fresh OS through recovery with the option of removing all files from C drive. Had also done a hard reset sometime in between. The first 2 times the laptop restarted in "gathering information" part. The 3rd time, the laptop stopped right away as soon as I entered recovery.
I have a feeling that the thunderbolt related circuit in the motherboard stopped working. Because both ports stopped working on the same time, the ports should not be the problem. And in the next when I tried installing the OS, the whole laptop went dead.
Thanks
Thanks!
