I have a OMEN laptop and recently I noticed that when I plug the charger in, it heats up to 90C and the fans get loud. As soon as I disconnect the charger, the CPU temperature goes back to normal around 40-50 C. And that happens when I'm not running any heavy software or games, I'm browsing on chrome. I've tested changing the power plan, a few days ago the BIOS had an automatic update, but nothing has changed. I'd like to know if it has something to do with the charger or the battery.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if it helps?
Have you tried to run a test on the AC adapter?
Let's try these steps here:

Hi, I ran a test on the AC adapter and nothing was wrong but the laptop keeps heating when its charging. I was wondering if the problem has something to do with the termal paste on the processor but I don't know if I should open my laptop to check it.
