😥Hello!
My laptop has been turning off and not turning back on unless charging despite it being at full or partially charged, turning off at random and freezing at random. I thought this was a hardware issue since last semester at uni i made the mistake of setting the screen to stay on all the time and manually turning it off at the end of the day. [i know this is bad practice and have since stopped doing it!] However when i ran some hardware tests using the HP PC hardware diagnostics for Win 10/11 64-bit all of the hardware keeps passing the tests. I just ran another test on the battery specifically to see if anythings changed but nothing. Im not sure what the problem may be, any ideas?
[If i dont respond right away i will in the morning as its late for me rn! ]

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically. When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics. There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS', Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button. The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button. When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one. |
You can try the new diagnostics but possibly the problem is just an accumulation of dust and heat due to fan now working good.

Before touching any component inside a PC you should touch the metal case first to allow any static electric to discharge.
If you do not have the proper surface for working on electronic equipment, then use an anti-static spray around the work area.
