Common problems for Battery

Example: Pavilion 14-ce0064st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop sometimes runs fine. But it will randomly turn off. Sometimes it goes strong for hours, or sometimes only a few minutes. But inevitably, out of nowhere, with no warning or reason, it will turn off. This is especially frequent when I move to a location or anytime I'm writing, as opposed to using the mouse or just reading something. I got a repair guy to look at it, and he said there was a problem with the RAM module. We opened it up and discovered that if we physically push down the RAM chip, it will work. So I left a piece of foam in there to hold it in place. It now works much better, but it still consistently turns off. Earlier it lasted only a few seconds or minutes, now it lasts a few minutes or hours. But it still turns off far too frequently for it to be useful to me. The foam holds it in place, making me think that positioning isn't the only problem. I bought a replacement RAM, and it has exactly the same problem. I know this is some kind of hardware issue, but I don't know how to solve it. This problem conveniently happened just a little after the year warranty expired, and I just can't sink another $750 into another laptop that will last me another 15 months. I need these things to survive longer than that. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Any ideas on how to fix it?

@Amnihu To be sure, I suggest we run an extensive hardware test on the device, via HP standards to identify the cause of the failure and resolve the issue, according, here's what I suggest we do:

Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details (If the device is booting up, right now)

Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.

Click Extensive Test.

Click Run once, or Loop until error.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

Oh, I already tried running an extensive hardware test. It didn't show anything wrong.

@Amnihu If that passed, it would only mean that this is not a hardware issue, I suggest you backup all your personal data and perform a system reset: click here for steps,

And let me know how that pans out, good luck!
