Common problems for Battery

Example: Spectre X360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Spectre that I bought a little over 4 years ago. I have recently noticed that when I plug the charger into my laptop the screen slowly develops vertical lines over a period of hours. It starts off very subtle, but it gets worse with time, and after a few hours on the charger the screen will become essentially unusable because nothing can be seen under the vertical lines. It looks like the screen is dying. Then when I take the charger out of the laptop the screen starts flashing and looks like a screen you would see in a post apocalyptic film that has been on but not used for several years. Then if I close the laptop and leave it off the charger for a couple hours, the screen goes back to normal. Has anyone experienced something like this? I don't know if that means that my charger is messed up and needs to be replaced or if it is a problem with the computer that will happen no matter what charger is used.

Hi,

Most likely it is a problem with the display panel or connection.

I would try a different charger since replacing the screen will have a cost.

Maybe a friend or even local computer store could let your try a compatible charger.

Hope it helps,

David
