Common problems for Battery

I have an HP Victus 15 with an Intel Core i5-12450H, RTX 3050, running Windows 11. The laptop performs perfectly on battery, but as soon as I plug in the charger, the performance drops instantly and the fans get noticeably quieter. It feels like the system is deliberately throttling itself.

This affects everything, not just games. Wi-Fi slows down, general apps lag, and when using MSI Afterburner, I see the CPU cores drop from 1500MHz to 210MHz immediately upon charging.

All power plans are set to Maximum Performance for both battery and plugged-in modes. Battery health is normal, the slowdown happens regardless of external devices, and there are no heavy apps running. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version and this issue has never happened before until now.

This issue makes gaming and general use frustrating. It is smooth on battery but severely throttled when charging. Please help me identify what could be causing this and if there is a BIOS, firmware, or setting that needs adjustment.

Any chance you have a spare power connector cable to replace for testing purposes?

Two laptops? The cable connector going from the power plug on the side of the laptop to the motherboard, that's the part I am thinking of.

If the laptop is under warranty, get ir to HP service centre, if not I would first replace that cable inside the device mentioned above.

It could be some software issue, an OS reinstallation might help too. You can try using live Linux to see how it will work.
