I noticed that my Laptop would stop charging all of a sudden.

I realized that if I unplugged the charger and put it into another socket outlet on the same extension box, it would start charging.

After a while, I noticed it started doing the thing where it would stop charging.

Then I noticed that if I disconnected the power cable from the charging box and reconnected it, it would start charging again and then stop.

I went and bought another Power cable and it worked well for a day and now the problem is back.

With the new power cable, if I disconnect and reconnect the power cable and the charging box, it would start charging again only to stop about one minute later.

Any ideas what the issue is?

Update: I shut down the Laptop and plugged and unplugged the charging cable and it's charging normally.

It appears the problem happens when the laptop is turned on.

Update:

I ran a battery and AC Adapter component diagnostics check using the HP PC Diagnostics Windows Tool and the AC Adapter test failed.
Here's the failure ID: 9BUEW1-000BS8-MFGGQK-C1F513
