Recently my new HP Laptop 15-dy1028ca turned off suddenly while I was working. At that time, upon restarting, it showed some battery error. In battery check results, it showed battery to be very weak. After not using it for 2 days, battery check results showed it to be normal. I assumed it to be a heating problem and made some changes accordingly.
I monitored laptop temperatures and fan speed using SpeedFan. I'm a bit confused with the data though. In SpeedFan it shows that my HP Laptop 15-dy1028ca has 2 fans. Fan 1 running around 3000 rpm while Fan 2 running around 200 rpm. While in the Maintenance and Service Guide of the same Laptop, it only mentions about 1 Fan. Anyway, in the application it shows everything to be normal. Temperatures are in the normal range and fans are working properly.
But I'm still facing the same problem. It showed the battery error only once. After that it had turned off suddenly for almost 5-6 times, but without any error showing on the screen. Every time after shutting off suddenly, I have to plug in my AC adapter to turn it on again. After that battery charges very quickly (like upto 20% in just 1 minute, upto 50% in just 3 minutes and so on until it reaches the level where it suddenly turned off). So many times this doesn't happen with battery. i've used laptop from 80% battery to 25% and charged it again. Randomly it shuts off, sometimes at 80% and sometimes at 40%. After 2-3 days, Battery Check results again show it to be normal.
It's getting annoying since I'm unable to find any specific issue over here.
Is it any driver update regarding problem ?
Is it the Battery problem ?
Is there any fan problem ?
Please help with proper guidance. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP notebook battery is not working correctly.
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
- 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
- 2. Expand batteries.
- 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
- 4. Shut down the computer.
- 5. Disconnect the charger.
- 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
- 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
- 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
- 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

@ECHO_LAKE
Thanks for your prompt response.
I followed all the steps except step no 6 & 8. Laptop Turned ON on battery and it worked well. But after connecting AC adapter(at that time battery was at 30%), it Suddenly Turned OFF and started charging from 0% when I turned it on again. At first, I connected AC adapter and turned the switch on. When Turned ON, all the software were running normally as nothing happened. Chrome was opened with tabs (otherwise it shows to restore tabs). And now battery check shows Weak Battery as result.
Please guide me further. Thanks !
