HP Notebook - 15g-br104tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few months ago this problem arose where the laptop would suddenly shut down and would  not start till either plugged or the battery was removed and reinserted. This issue stopped for a while when i kept the laptop plugged in thinking it was a power issue , which in turn caused the battery's life to deteriorate and i just had the battery replaced like the day before yesterday and this issue came back , the laptop shut down at around 60 percent while it was charging from 23 percent. Please help me! I am attaching the log with this.

@Lava8005, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your laptop shuts down unexpectedly, especially after replacing the battery. Let's work through this together to identify and resolve the issue.
Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear any residual electrical charge that might be causing power issues.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and reconnect the charger.
  • Power on the laptop.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or chipset drivers can cause power management issues.

  • Visit the HP Support page.
  • Enter your product name: HP Notebook - 15g-br104tx.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS, Chipset, and Power Management drivers.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This will help check for hardware issues, especially with the battery and power system.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Battery Test and System Test.
  • If any test fails, note the failure ID and share it here or contact HP Support.

Check Battery Health in HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from here - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support).
  • Go to Battery > Battery Check.
  • Review the battery condition and calibration suggestions.

Power Settings and Fast Startup

Sometimes, Windows Fast Startup can cause power issues.

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup.
  • Save changes and restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
