Ok so, I have an HP spectre x360 with windows 10 on it. It is a 2 in 1 laptop that has touchscreen capabilities. Normally if I rotate my computer or flip the screen it will automatically switch to tablet mode, which is fine. But, for example, if I want to watch a show in bed and lay on my side I like to put my computer on its side as well without going into tablet mode so I can still use the trackpad and keyboard. So I change the setting to not switch the computer to tablet mode and I also have autorotation set to off, so the screen will stay it its normal configuration. When I turn the computer to the side the screen stays the same (which is what I want) and it does not switch to tablet mode (which is also what I want), BUT windows disables both my trackpad and my keyboard while the computer is sideways (90 degrees) like it thinks I'm in tablet mode when I'm really not.
Essentially, I want my computer to act like a normal laptop without a bunch of auto-rotates and tablet modes for the time that I am in bed and then be able to switch back so that I can lay on my side with my computer at a 90 degree angle and nothing changes. And so far, everything seems to work other than windows disabling my trackpad and keyboard.
Also a little clarification, if tablet mode is set to turn on when I rotate the computer, if I turn tablet mode OFF while the computer is still in its rotated position the keyboard and trackpad stay disabled. They will not become enabled until the laptop is in an upright position again.
P/s: This one I copied from Microsoft Community but I have the same issue so I reupload it here.

Welcome to HP Support Community,
I would like to inform you that touchpad is disabled by default when the PC is in tablet mode because the touchscreen is available for use.
However, you can try these steps here:
Go to control panel
2. Go to Display
3. Go to Adjust Resolution
4. Be sure "Allow the screen to auto-rotate" is CHECKED.
If this does not work then try this link: HP Notebook PCs - Switching Between Tablet Mode and Desktop Mode (Windows 10)
Also, uninstall the keyboard in device manager and restart the computer.
Solution 1:
The keyboard in Windows 10 has an automatic detector to disable the keyboard and the trackpad as soon as it becomes a 'tablet'. To access it go to the following menu items:
Control panel (NOT SETTINGS) -> Keyboard (use icons) -> Keyboard Lock -> Auto-Lock the keyboard and touchpad (recommended)
You can use these settings to disable the keyboard in tablet mode.
Solution 2:
Some of the users who had the similar issue have mentioned in some forums that the issue is fixed by adjusting the angle of the tablet. When the laptop is rotated sideways it attempts to switch to tablet mode, even when you have not adjusted the screen angle. The sensing is done by an orientation sensor in the base of the laptop, not in the hinges. So, to turn the keyboard back on and to go to laptop mode try tilting the whole laptop towards you slightly and check.
Solution 3:
- If it does not please perform a complete system recovery again to factory settings.
- Then install the latest version of HP support assistant.
- Please perform all Windows update again.
- Then update the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Please run the Intel driver utility and update it from the Intel website.
- Also, ensure that you have the latest bios update by running HP support assistant.
- This should do the trick for you if there is no hardware issue with the computer.
Solution 4:
Go to Device Manager > System devices > Intel Integrated Sensor Solution and ensure that the driver is enabled.
Solution 5:
Goto path -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation
Check the value of Enable file if it is 0 rotation will be OFF, if 1 rotation will be ON.
Restart and Auto rotation will work.
Note: The lock rotation button in display settings will still be disabled.
Let me know how it goes!

seems like I have tried to download the hp support and update the driver but it didn't recognize the Intel sensor driver. Is there anyway to download it manually since the support website doesn't show that driver?

In this scenario, I would suggest you try to download the drivers directly from our HP support website,
Here's the link: Click here
If the issue persists, I would suggest you could try to Download the Autodetect software from Intel to install the latest version directly from Intel website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant
Keep me posted on how it goes for further assistance!
Thank you 🙂

As you have followed all the steps suggested and still having the issue,
In this scenario, I would suggest you backup your data first and then try to perform a System reset.
Please follow the instructions from this support document - HP PCs - Resetting Your Computer (Windows 10)
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you 🙂
