I am facing a battery-related issue with my HP laptop which is under warranty. While using the laptop, it suddenly turned off even though the battery was fully charged. At first, I thought it was due to low battery, but after reconnecting the charger, the battery showed 100% charge. I tested it again by disconnecting the charger after full charge, and after a few minutes, the laptop shut down again and would not power on without the charger. It seems my laptop is not running on battery even when fully charged. Kindly assist me in resolving this issue under warranty with on-site service.

Hi @Srijan_Sri,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We're sorry to hear you're facing this battery issue with your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop – 15-fb0000 series (598U8AV). Since your laptop is under warranty, and the system shuts off on battery even when showing 100% charge, this suggests a battery hardware malfunction or firmware/BIOS-level fault that requires inspection.
I would request you to please try the steps shared below and let me know the result.
1. Run HP Battery Diagnostics
Use HP’s built-in tool to confirm the battery health:
- Download and run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support.
- Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
- Save the test results (especially if they show "Replace" or "Failure").
2. Check Battery Status in HP Support Assistant
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Go to Battery > Battery Check.
- This will also log the issue for warranty support.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
