I’ve had my laptop for quite a while sitting around now and I’ve wanted to start to use it again. The problem with this laptop is that it must be connected to the charger or else it completely turns off. It will show an updating screen that says installing windows and start at 64% then restart several times and it stays that way.
If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps: 1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over. 2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu 3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run. If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.

Thanks for assisting but it doesn’t show me a diagnostics key. It only shows main, security, system configuration, and exit. This has not yet resolved my problem but I am looking forward to any more help provided.
