Hi folks,
i just bought this laptop without RAM, HD and Wireless. So, i've got a couple of questions before choosing those parts.
1) Does the bios of this model still have a withelist ?
2) Regarding the RAM, should i get any specific brand (other than the usual most expensive brands recommended by the laptop manufacturers) or any will do ?
3) I'm intending to install a WD black SN750 in it, any forseen issue ?
Thanks in advance
Nicoi

You're very welcome, Nicolas.
Naturally the site that may provide more details on your specific notebook is not working right now. ☹️
This would be the site you want to enter the serial number or product number in.
The serial number may provide more specific info regarding your notebook.
It should also tell you exactly what model wifi card was installed in your notebook.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi:
Regarding the BIOS Wifi whitelist...
From our last discussion...No one will be able to tell you if that model has one or not.
Re: Wirrless adapter compatibility - HP Support Community - 7932158
The service manual has the list of supported wifi adapters with their HP part numbers.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP ProBook 440 G6 Notebook PC
If you still have the Intel 9260, you can try that one and see what happens.
Memory: I would go with the standard memory (green circuit board) that Crucial recommends...
Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | probook | ProBook 440 G6 | Crucial.com
SSD. NVMe SSD's are supported according to chapter 1 of the service manual, so the WD 750 should work.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply.
I see you have a good memory ;).
I wasn't able to find out which graphic card my future computer is equipped with (needed for choosing the fan), as got redirected to this general page when entering the S/N or product #.
Would you be able to help me determinate it ?
The s/n is 5CD015D31C and the ProdID: 5PQ49EA#UUZ.
Your help is appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi Paul,
I'm afraid i spoke too early 😉. I will need your help again.
I managed to find my device, but i'm not sure on how to read this:
L37838-008 ASSY BU IDS DSC i5-8265U 450 G6
Does DSC stand for discrete graphics ?
Cheers

Hi, Nicolas:
Yes, you are correct.
The DSC stands for discrete graphics adapter.
Notebook motherboards with the onboard Intel graphics would have been described as UMA (Unified Memory Architecture).
According to chapter 1 of the service manual it appears that your notebook will come with one of these two Nvidia graphics adapters.
Discrete graphics
Nvidia GeForce MX150 with 2 GB video memory
Nvidia GeForce MX130 with 2 GB video memory
Cheers,
Paul
