Hello all,
I wish to upgrade my HP Envy 15T's wifi card because my current one, the Broadcom bcm34142 802.11 bgn wifi m.2 adapter does not support 5ghz connections and is quite weak in signal.
What kind of wifi card am I supposed to get, how much will it cost me, and how difficult is the process of replacing it? I am decently knowledgable in PC's, and I don't want to replace my laptop anytime soon.
Any solutions?
Model Number: HP Envy 15t ae000

The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265adapter is compatible with your notebook and is a dual band unit.
It is inexpensive. I did a search for availability and price.
Now "how difficult is the process of replacing it?" That depends on you and the risk you are willing to take. Replacing the adapter does require some skill. It involves an almost complete disassembly and reassembly of the notebook.
You can also purchase the adapter and pay to have it installed at a shop.
As a less expensive alternative, you can purchase a usb nano dual band wifi dongle , plug it into a USB port and you will have dual band wifi. See a couple of examples at the following links.
